ABOUT US
Family Friendly Fun.
Are you curious who the Magic Woolies are? Then you've come to the right place! We've been traveling as individuals, and a family, for years. Our latest adventure is hiking the entire 1,200 mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail in Wisconsin in 2019.

Fuzzy Bear (Jeremy) - Father, husband, personal protection instructor, coach, and writer. He's been camping and exploring the outdoors since his earliest memories. He's been a professional guide, wilderness first responder, and suffers from an acute case of wanderlust that has taken him all over the world.

Cheetah (Nicole) - Mother, wife, teacher and coach. This ex-National Soccer Team player discovered a love of traveling to remote international locations and working with endangered species after a career-ending injury upset her Olympic goals. She's attended guide training in South Africa and is also a wilderness first responder. As a teacher, her been-there-done-that experiences, stories, and pictures breathe life into the classroom curriculum.

Saber-tooth (Bristol) - Daughter and sister, this 6 year-old has been traveling around the U.S. since she was born, and racked up an impressive list of states and national parks before she could even walk. Pensive and inquisitive, she often answers adult's questions about animal prints and behavior, animal species ranging from the arctic to the African plains. She is always ready with a smile that shows off the gap from her two missing top teeth which spawned her moniker. She's also the mastermind behind the family's trail name.

Cheetah Cub (Piper) - Daughter and sister, this precocious 4 year-old is more used to being carried in a pack than carrying one herself. She is no stranger to the outdoors and has traveled almost extensively as her sister, though. She can often be seen squatting beside a bug or dead animal to inspect it carefully, or heard half a mile away (singing or talking up a storm generally, occasionally whining or yelling at her family members). Her fearlessness causes no end of stress for her parents.

Although we have visited national and state parks and done a good bit of hiking together, this through-hike of the Ice Age Trail will be our first long-distance endeavor, and I'm sure will be enlightening, entertaining, and frustrating for all four of us. We may even welcome guests at various points along the route!
